It’s the start to a beautiful harvest season in the Gorge! The Hood River Harvest fest kicks-off this weekend. Pears and apples are abundant and ready to pick. We’ve got a couple of cases of organic pears & apples at the shop, too – ready to eat now.
We’re inspired by the change of season. We’ve got the pumpkin bagel in the house. It’s a sell-out almost everyday, so drop by early to nab one. Try it with the maple-pecan cream cheese. Yum. We’ve also had some great soup selections; Alder-smoked Salmon Chowder & Broccoli-Cheddar. It’s been hitting the spot on a rainy afternoon.
It’s grape harvest (should be, anyway) here in the Gorge, as well. Many of the local wineries are starting crush and have special releases, tastings and events planned. Check out the list of locals here at the Columbia Gorge Winegrowers website.
One of our favorite Fall traditions is a visit to Pumpkin Funland at Rasmussen Farms. You just got to see it to believe it. Fun for kids of all ages.
